From The Patch To My Freezer

This post is especially for Teresa. It reminds me of one she would do. : ) I have found that since I've been married, I have tried a bunch of new things that I had never even attempted before and finding out I like it a lot. I had never cooked a pumpkin, or anything of the sort, but figured... hey, how hard can it be? Here's how it went....

Rinsing these slippery things is NOT an easy task. Reminded me of summer and squirting watermelon seeds! : D

I toasted them with garlic salt & worcestershire sauce. Twas quite good, if I do say so myself.

Only problem... one pumpkin doesn't yield very many seeds. : )

Cooked pulp ready to go into the...

handy dandy "ching" blender.

While I didn't make a pie yet, I did make some tasty pumpkin chip bread, and will tackle the pie on another day with Derek. Will see what the new year brings.

November

Since I am so far behind anyways, here's a summary of Nov.

Getting ready to go rake leaves at Ed & Delores' for a fundraiser.

Connor decided to come out and help too. : )

Leaves are TOO much fun!

Rides were fun until the tarp started to rip... : S

It's Christmas Time In The City...

Wait! Roll back the reel! It's not Christmas yet! It's..... Fall Party!!! This year the theme for the fall party was "The City". People came dressed up as anything from a taxi cab, to a street artist, Or just a plain "interesting" person. Look see, ain't you evah see a "weerdo" in the city befaw?

Here's an idea... since I took a lot of pictures, and a picture says a thousand words... how about I just post lots of pictures with a few captions instead of writing a long summary of our fanstastic day. Hmm... Well guess since nobody objected, that's what I'll do. Wait... nobody can comment til I post the pictures. Guess I better get crack'n. Til next time! : D

It started off with a children's meeting about how to shine a light in the city on a hill. Was very cool for everybody. Even grown ups! : )

Mark made an awesome fire fighter!

All the paintings/decorations were fantastic!

Anyone else ever been confused while driving in a city???

The raffle ticket sellers : )

Instead of playing for money, Christian put candy in his case for the kids to take.

Anybody know where we are? : )

Fall Time

We've been having a lovely fall. Crisp weather, but not yet really cold. The leaves are turning beautiful colors everywhere and crunching when you step on them. Last Saturday, Isaac & I took three of the younger boys to Fifer Orchards to pick some pumpkins and see what we could see. We had a lot of fun as you can see from the pics. : ) Yesterday, I went back with James, Roshini, Mark, & Jude and we all had some fresh apple cider donuts and a lot more fun. I must say they come highly recommended. We also had Esther and Nathan over for the weekend and had lots of fun with them. I think it is VERY cool having a whole house instead of just a basement or a bedroom to have people over in. And to answer the frequently asked question... "So, how's married life?" I am most enjoying being married to my best friend. I's the luckiest girl there is. : D

Pumpkin Heads : )

I turned into a pumkin head too.

Isaac helped Esther bake her special cookies.

Smil!

Esther is trying to ride the bucking bronco while saving her brother from a wrestling match. : )
