Summer Outings

Since Activity Club groups are done for the summer and we soon won't have a meeting hall anymore, we will be going on outings and doing various other fun things which I shall not name at this precise time so as to keep them a surprise. : ) We went on our first outing after the feast with the kids to the park and also took the under AC age kids (April 11, . The older ones played kick ball and the younger ones played in the big wooden castle. I think everybody had a really good time in there. The sky even decided to fall and drop a cell phone on Tina's very unsuspecting head! Afterwards we all went to McDonald's for ice cream cones and sundae's. For some reason or other they dumped all the ice cream cones upside down in cups. Some of the kids were disappointed that they had not ordered such a cool upside down cone and were stuck with their sundae's. Hehe, go figure. I think everybody had a great time. I know I did! Looking fwd to the bonfire on Friday. : )

This is supposed to be a one person machine. These crazy girls went double, and doubly nuts!

He can fly!

Mackenzie was super fast at the monkey bars.

Diana with a weirdo ice cream cone

I loooove ice cream. Especially with CHOCOLATE on top!

Mark, looking wistfully at the Olivia's ice cream...

Activity Club Feast

Ok, this feast was a while, back but I have been crazy busy with all kinds a stuff an not updated for a while so will try to fill in a bit. On March 28, we had an Activity Club Feast to end our groups for the summer. The three groups were science, guitar and Drama. Over the winter months, these groups had been practicing songs on the guitar, an original play by Daniel, Kris, & Verba, and making all sorts of science experiments. At the feast the guitar group played several songs and they were really good! None of the guitarists had previous experience on the guitar but with Ben, Isaac, & Kris's help they did a fantastic job I thought. I don't think we'll run out of guitars in the meetings for a while. The science group set up a bunch of displays where they showed off various experiments ranging from catapults that slung marshmallows to volcanoes with flowing lava. That group was headed up by Jenn, James, & Buddy. Drama group headed up by Daniel, Verba, and myself, performed a play about a very bratty, self centered princess (Keri, who is not like this in real life... We promise) and a Queen (Angie) who would do anything to make her daughter happy... Including do away with all the cooks in the kingdom if they couldn't come up with a food that was hot as summer and cold as winter in 24 hrs! Hot dogs and ketchup nor "B"Rat poisoning were very good suggestions. : ) They performed brilliantly! Awards and a few prizes were handed out and the evening was finished off with sideshow and a surprise dessert! Wish I could stick up lots of pics of that evening. Especially the play. Maybe I will later. It was a fantastic evening!

Guitar Group

Scientists! (they dearly wanted to blow something up! ) : 0

Bad Pic, but this is drama group

Royalty... Need we say more (cough, snobs!)

Our Genius Cooks!

"The Four Idiots" (Buddy, Kyle, & Matthew...note there are four of them. Yes, they can count) were joined by a pet penguin and an apparently deaf and dumb friend who is holding out on them.

A Bird In The Hand Is Worth Two In The Bush.

Well, that statement is debatable if you happened to get crapped on and/or bitten. The church went to go look at a potential property for our new meeting hall and Jer found this hurt bird in the woods and went through the brambles to catch it. It then gave him a lovely present and proceede to bite Phil. The kids still loved it anyways. Other than than the fact that it was cold, out it was a really nice evening and I have to say I LOVE that property! It has loads of potential. The neighbors have a farm of some sorts so if you go next to the ditch that separates the properties you smell and hear various uh, pleasantries... Cows, bulls, pigs, dogs, llamas?, donkeys, and who knows what all. They had quite the menagerie at any rate. It is very exciting to see what will happen in the next couple of months. We will be meetinghalless pretty soon here. I am looking so excited for the time coming up that sometimes I feel like a balloon that is about to burst! Last night we had an AC feast and that was extremely cool. Maybe will manage a post about that soon. Til then... Here's a few more pics of when we were at the property.

Twenty-Four Weeks & Counting

Hey looky here! You can actually see the little bloke pushing her stomach out now. They are 80% sure it is a girl, which presents a name problem... You see, this little baby is already loved by the whole fellowship (Me Most!!!) and adored by the youth group and kids. Before finding out that it is most likely a girl one person called it "Squishy" (from Finding Nemo) and it spread from there. It is now officially Kris & "Squishy" by half of the people around here. The name problem now is whether to call it "Squishette" or Squishetta" Poor kid after it's born, but anyways. We are waiting (with patience anybody?)until July 11th which is the projected date for "her" arrival. Until then, I will try to post pics of the ever progressing "bump" on the front of my sister.

Mini Troupers

We now have a fundraising group of made up of mostly kids age 9-15. Since there is not always major work party stuff they can be involved in, the point is that they can do work in the homes of the various friends/brothers so that they can be along in the work parties. I think the definition of trouper is really good. "A reliable, uncomplaining, often hard-working person." Perfect work party attitude. Well, an anytime attitude really but anyways. Right now the main thing they are doing is chopping wood and last Sat. Bertha, Johanne F. & I made lunch for them. That was really cool. Thanks for all your hard work guys! (We made them take off all their muddy stuff so as not to dirty the mtg hall. Hence all the strewn items)
