Wedding Date Change!

"I love Nascar..." or I don't... Especially when the the bi-annual race at Dover International Speedway falls on our projected wedding date. For anybody not familiar with what it is like in Dover on a Race weekend, let me describe the traffic situation for you. For a week beforehand, race fans begin coming in and putting up campers all over town. Dover has a population of approx 36,000. On race weekend, the number of people spikes to about 200,000! If you are trying to get into the Dover area Friday night, drive around during any non race time on Sat. or leave again on Sunday, you can pretty much just plan on sitting in your car, bumper to bumper, and hoping that your car does not overheat or run out of gas. Therefore... our wedding date has been set for Sept. 12, 2009. Official announcements and invitations will follow, but for anybody who happens to follow along here, you get a heads up.

Thanks again to everybody for all the comments on the blog and emails that were sent. There was almost no way to reply to them all. Really is incredible how many friends you can have. Oh, and I wasn't trying to make people "fess up" or anything that they had been checking my site without leaving a comment. : ) I actually never expected that many people to check it anyways and since I only knew of a few who did, it was a bit of a surprise. Kinda nice to hear from people though.

That enough people for you??? Yes, this is a real pic of Dover. (Def NOT taken by me)

Someone Special...

I guess I'm a little too late to announce my engagment to Isaac to anybody. I think pretty much the whole world knew in a matter of a few hours after it hit facebook... Yikes. Anyways, thanks very much for all the congrats so far and if you didn't hear, and are just now reading this post... Yes, I am engaged to Isaac Sacra, no, it is not a rumor (Hate those!), and end of Sept. is a likely possibility for a wedding.

Say what you like, has not been the reason for me not updating here... : ) (well mostly not...)it is very honestly job hunting which I will be very glad to be done with some day. (here's to hoping on a new job soon or more work at my current one) Don't know what else to say really except that I am not planning on shutting the blog down, so if you're one of the few who does come here, I will post something when I get "a round tuit" and not before. My sincerest apologies Teresa and Mina. I have no clue who all else looks at it besides about 5 other people anyways. (kinda a scary thought....) Well here are two pics. Here you go Maggie! : ) More later. : D

First Pic... Wonder why we look so tired? Might be cause there is SERIOUSLY no time to spend with anybody other than hours you should be sleeping with busy church schedules.

Celebrating with Kris & Daniel. Thanks for a cool eve. guys!

Fall Party

Well, here's the fall party post. Endelig... ikke sant Teresa? I do try to keep my promises... Hehe, Enjoy!

Big Chief did not sit on the fire and put it out... Just danced and made smoke.

This cowboy was trying all day to shoot me every time I tried to take a picture.

The theme this year if you can't tell by the pics was Cowboys and Indians. Many of the friends dressed up for the occasion and all the decorations made it very festive. The day started with the annual hay ride. (I think this was the first time I remember EVER going a different direction that than just around the block. Outside there were different themed Indian or Cowboy activities or stations. In the cowboy camp you could enjoy music, hot drinks, and various uh, edibles around the fire or just singing along with the guitar. The "spitt'n contest" had participants of all ages. It was for accuracy as well as distance. The furthest I believe was 24 feet! Horse/pony rides, learning how to use a lasso, and target shooting with a BB gun were the other cowboy activities.

You could hear the Indian camp from almost anywhere outside when they were dancing. Was some of the funniest stuff I saw all day. They did a stick dance of some sorts, and this was also a cool activity that all ages got involved with. There was also Tee Pee painting and bow and arrow target shooting.

There were some activities in the gym including everybody learning how to line dance with Kris & Ang. Hehe, I think I have two left feet... The "grub" was fantastic, and it was a really, really fun filled day with lots of good laughs, friends, and fellowship. I've put a link on the side for pictures from the day. Happy Trails!

Happy New Years!

Merry Christmas! Happy New Years an everything else that goes with it. I have now gotten my computer back and a spare minute to update. I decided not to do any posts of Christmas as Teresa did a very nice job of doing that while she was here an i am already so far behind it isn't funny. So, this is just a quick post to say "I'm back" an hopefully you will enjoy the upcoming posts. Still promising fall party pics. Those were great! Will do one of New Years with Activity Club and hopefully one of my basement soon. It's got a few more things in it. : ) Thanks for the paper in my cupboards Teresa! Well til next time.... Here's a few pics.

Loockerman Street in down town Dover. The best place at Christmas time!

My first Christmas tree. It is small and sparse, but i like it. (note the napkin tree skirt...)

Had to rival Teresa's pic of Connor. : )

I had the little girls over for a sleep over.

Kris & I made party mix! Yum!

There's a Light In My Windows

For anybody who was unaware (sorry Teresa) that I am fixing up my parents basement... Here's a brief post of how that is going. Fixing up might not be quite the correct word but anyways. Mel and Ben used to live down here and had made a pretty cozy apartment out if it. Of course they had couches and coffee tables and all of the stuff that is on the agenda to get... Hehe, it all takes doing so first comes the cleaning and then the sparse furnishings. Ang, Julie, Abbie & Megan were helping me out with the cleaning in the kitchen while I was shampooing the carpet. That took some doing I tell you what! It takes a long time to get anything done when there is something going on pretty much every evening and weekend and you can only work for short periods of time. I took down the old blue plaid curtains and was determined not to put them back up, so I have finally put up some flags which I rather like the look of. The windows in the front were an odd size so my 3x5 flags didn't all fit so the blue thing is a piece of cloth from Thailand. They aren't that "homey" looking, but I am not "living" down here, just taking care of it and it is really nice to have your own space to have people over. For the moment I just have Camp chairs, and while it isn't the same as curling up on a couch they are not all that bad. : ) The cleaning pics are back in Sept. and the ones of my windows are just this morning. Kris came over the other night after the meeting and was helping me out putting them up. Supposedly they look pretty cool from the outside as well. : ) I am hoping to get stuff up on the now clean walls soon. Will post pics of that when I do. Here's a few for now....

It was pretty spotted up... probably hadn't been shampooed in forever

You wouldn't believe how long it takes to shampoo carpet until you do it.

Ang cleaned my fridge!
